Meet Our Music Teachers!

Alexis Bresnahan

Mrs. Alexis Bresnahan

     Mrs. Bresnahan is a 2006 and 2007 graduate of the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. She holds both Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Music Education, with a concentration in Voice. While at SUNY Potsdam, Mrs. Bresnahan was active as a student conductor of womens and mixed choirs at the collegiate level under Dr. Rebecca Reames.

  Mrs. Bresnahan is a member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), and the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA), as well as the New York State Theatre Educators Association (NYSTEA). Mrs. Bresnahan serves as the Membership Chair of the Dutchess County Music Educators Association (DCMEA) and is beginning her pursuit of National Board Certification this year.

  Mrs. Bresnahan has taught in the Millbrook Central School District since September of 2007. She currently teaches 8th Grade General Music, 6th Grade Chorus, 7/8 Chorus, 9-12 Concert Choir and vocal lessons. Her students are frequently selected for the All-County, Area All-State, and All-State Choruses. She is also the conductor of the High School select vocal ensembles, the musical director of the High School Drama Club, and the director of the Middle School Drama Club. Mrs. Bresnahan lives in Red Hook, NY with her husband David and two daughters, McKenna (5) and Riley (2).

 

 

 

 

Craig FryerMr. Craig Fryer

     Mr. Fryer is the instrumental music teacher for grades 4 and 5 at the Alden Place Elementary School. This is his first year in this position since his retirement from his former position as the instrumental music teacher for grades 6 – 12 in the District, which he held since September of 1993.
     Under Mr. Fryer’s leadership, the high school band and jazz ensemble won numerous awards at both state and national competitions. The 7th and 8th grade band received 11 straight gold, or gold with distinction honors, at NYSSMA evaluation festivals. The high school band had the honor of performing at Carnegie Hall.
     Mr. Fryer received his BS in Music Education from West Chester State University, and a Master of Music Composition degree from SUNY Binghamton. Mr. Fryer is also a private French horn teacher in the area, and he has had numerous all-state students in the past. He was also the recent recipient of the Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching from SUNY New Paltz and the Mid-Hudson School Study Council.
     Mr. Fryer performed for years in the Columbia Wind Quintet, and also in the Windsor Brass Quintet. He is also a vocalist in the area and is presently performing with Kairos (A Consort of Singers from West Park, New York). Mr. Fryer is also an active composer and has had compositions recently performed by Kairos and Angelica of New York City.

 

 

Mr. DunningerMr. Daniel Dunninger 

     Mr. Dunninger is the instrumental music teacher for 6th grade through 12th grade in the Millbrook Central School District. Mr. Dunninger is the director of the 6th grade band, 7th and 8th grade band, the high school band, and the high school jazz ensemble.
     Previously Mr. Dunninger was a music teacher on Long Island where he assisted several school districts in their music endeavors.
     Mr. Dunninger received his BS in Music Education from Hofstra University, and a Master of Wind Conducting from Hofstra University. Mr. Dunninger has also been a private tutor for the past 8 years, specializing in brass performance and coaching students to several all-county festivals.
     Mr. Dunninger performs with community bands and serves as a NYSSMA judge for solo festivals. He also enjoys running the Pit Orchestra for Millbrook High School.

 Mrs. Heidi TucciMrs. Heidi Tucci

     Mrs. Tucci is a 1988 graduate of the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam and a 1994 graduate of Central Connecticut State University. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Education, with a dual concentration in piano and voice. She also holds a Masters Degree in Music Performance, with a concentration in voice.
     One of the highlights of Mrs. Tucci's college experience was singing with the Crane Chorus at the re-opening of the Statue of Liberty. She was also chosen as a featured performer at this event. Her master vocal recital included: solos in Russian, Italian, German and French, as well as in English.
     Mrs. Tucci is a member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), the National Association for Music Education (MENC), and the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA). Mrs. Tucci is also a member of the Dutchess County Music Educators Association (DCMEA), and has been selected as All County Chorus Accompanist on numerous occasions. In fact, she will be serving in that capacity again this year.
     Over the years, her students have been chosen to participate in Elementary All County, Junior High All County, Area All State and Conference All State. She has also served as Vocal Music Director of several High School musical productions.
     Outside of Millbrook, Mrs. Tucci is currently a member of the Arlington Players Advisory Board at Arlington High School, and the Church Organist/Choir Accompanist at Trinity United Methodist Church in LaGrangeville. She has performed roles in numerous Community Theater musicals and vocal solos throughout the Hudson Valley. She has also been a private voice and piano instructor.
     Mrs. Tucci started her teaching career in the Poughkeepsie City School District, where she taught for seven years. She has taught in the Millbrook Central School District since October of 1995. Mrs. Tucci is currently teaching Kindergarten-6th Grade General Music and 4/5 Chorus. She also directs two musicals annually; one for second grade and one for the 4/5 Chorus. She also prepares her students for numerous concerts and music events throughout the year.
