Graduates From The Class Of 2016 Visit MHS

Mrs. Petta and Mrs. Grady organized an informative assembly today for our current seniors. MHS graduates returned to discuss the transition to college for our twelfth graders. Students prepared questions about college life, academics, personal and social experiences. The Alumni students were available afterwards in the library for follow up questions and information on college major or university interest. It was a successful and insightful event! Naturalist Visits Our First Grade

First graders had a visit from Mr. Thomas Lake, a NYS estuary naturalist. We learned about the history of the wildlife that lives in our area. We enjoyed seeing and feeling the pelts of an otter, coyote, striped skunk, black bear, red fox, deer, and a beaver. We also learned about an animal that lived in our area, but is now extinct. Mr. Lake uncovered the rib and the teeth of a mastodon in Hyde Park. The rib was taller than a first grader! Thank you Thomas Jackson, for sharing your grandfather with Elm Drive children!
